Innovation and technology at InsuranceTech Latin America 2024: a glimpse of the future of insurance
We participated in the InsuranceTech Latin America 2024 Summit, held August 26-28 at the Colonnade Coral Gables Hotel in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. This event brought together the most important decision-makers in the Latin American insurance industry.
The summit created a collaborative space where industry leaders share information, experiences and case studies on the implementation of new technologies and business models. The agenda covered risk, actuarial, underwriting, operations, distribution, customer engagement and claims, as well as advanced technologies such as advanced analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, internet of things, cloud computing, cybersecurity and blockchain.
Juan Esteban Castaño Rincón, Production Technical Coach, presented the talk “Transforming the insurance sector with artificial intelligence: innovation and efficiency in the digital era”, he shared his vision on how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the insurance industry.

- Basic concepts and historical evolution of AI: He began his presentation by providing an overview of the evolution of artificial intelligence, helping attendees understand where we have come from and where we are headed in this field.
- Practical applications in the insurance industry: concrete applications of AI in the industry were discussed, from improving marketing efficiency and optimizing claims management, to innovating in customer service.
- Challenges and associated risks: also addressed the challenges and risks that accompany AI, such as artificial intelligence hallucinations and security issues that need to be considered.
- Adoption of customized AI solutions: finally, he presented our miia suite, designed to improve business processes and take the insurance industry to the next level.
Our participation in InsuranceTech Latin America 2024 opens up new business and collaboration opportunities. It was an invaluable space to connect with other industry leaders and share our ideas about the future of insurance.
